Anyone have a good starting point/example for configuring 'Remote Multiserver' ColdFusion Builder. I'm running CF8 and Eclipse 3.4 and I've had no success after following some online examples.

Are you talking about just registering multiple remote servers in the servers panel or something else?

For certain CF Builder features ( like stopping and starting it remotely ) you need to actually install some serverside components on your servers before it'll work.

Yeah, Eclipse has always annoyed me when it comes to the Abobe plugins. I can get multiservers to work in Gaileo 3.5+, but not Gamede 3.4. Problem is I have to first install my Adobe Flex 3 to version 3.4 then copy the "com.adobe.*' plugins to the version 3.5 folder to get it to work there. I'm sure some updates would fix the problem but Adobe really needs to provide updates to CFB before I'll actively use it. It's still quite buggy.

Yeah, it's definitely still a work in progress. I had some serious issues trying to get the plugin version to play nicely with various other Eclipse setups including an Aptana standalone and Flash Builder on both Windows 7 and OS X.

If I were you I would try out the CFBuilder standalone, it's been a lot less buggy for me at least. I know that undermines a lot of the appeal of using Eclipse as your IDE, but at least you might get around having to negotiate all of the plugin conflicts and versioning issues. And of course, it is pre-release software, so it's allowed to be buggy.

Hopefully they'll start pushing the latest releases ( which have been much more stable and performant than the July one on labs ) to the public after MAX.
